Grade 1 students made a holiday craft using acorns, pinecones, chestnuts, acorn caps, little twigs, and other organic elements to make decorative acorn wreath.
Students recognize the unique shapes, colours, and textures of their materials.
The Acorn Mosaic craft helps kids to build knowledge through investigation of their surroundings. Throughout the process, first graders learn about acorns and many other natural objects fall in autumn.
This art project helps kids improve their fine motor skills as they select and place acorns into their wreath. They also discover the concepts of sorting, background, and patterns.

1年生は、どんぐりや松ぼっくり、どんぐりの帽子、小枝などを自然の中から見つけて、リースを作りました。子どもたちは、見つけた素材の、ユニークな形、様々な色、色々な触感があることに気付きました。
どんぐりモザイクの制作活動を通して、児童らは、自分たちの周りの環境の中で様々なことに気付き、学ぶことができました。このようなプロセスを通じて、１年生は、どんぐりや、その他の秋の自然の植物について学びました。
このプロジェクトでは、どんぐりを拾い集めて、リースを作る作業を通じて、指の小さな動きを使って精密な作業を行う能力を身につけることが出来ます。また、物をグループに分類したり、背景、パターンに気付くことも出来ました。
