Kouzurugama is one of the Japanese potters of Agano-ware with a history of more than 400 years. At the age of 14, Dai moved to the United States with his father, who was to teach at Harvard University. He returned to Japan after graduating from Portland University of Fine Arts in the United States. After studying pottery in Kyoto, he returned to Fukuoka and continued his artistic activities.

高鶴窯は、４００年以上の歴史を持つ上野焼の窯元のひとつ。１４歳の時、ハーバード大学で陶芸を教えることとなった父に伴い、渡米。アメリカ・ポートランド美術大学卒業後帰国。京都で陶芸を学んだ後、福岡に戻り、陶芸家としての活動を続ける。
