Originally from Manchester, UK, Mr. Southerton has been teaching at Linden Hall for fifteen years. Driven by a lifelong obsession with music, he brings "pro musician" energy to our music rooms, teaching students at the Elementary, Junior High, and High School.

Mr. Southerton is drawn to Linden Hall for its rare commitment to nurturing true individuality through our Wakon Eisai philosophy. He believes music is a core subject, essential for developing healthy, well-rounded humans.

Beyond the standard curriculum, he shares his expertise through popular after-school guitar and drum lessons. And if you’re wondering how he stays so inspired? He starts every day with a scenic ferry commute from Nokonoshima Island!
